DOLE to give jobs to over 30k workers affected by typhoons


The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has vowed to offer jobs to more than 30,000 workers affected by the onslaught of typhoons.

According to DOLE Assistant Secretary Dominque Tutay, jobs will be provided under the “Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers or TUPAD” Program for affected individuals.

DOLE ASec. Tutay pointed out that under the program, hired workers will clean up debris and help clear roads.

The labor department aims to give jobs to workers in Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the Bicol Region. It also disclosed that the fund will be coming from the “Bayanihan to Recover as One Act” – PTV News
