The Department of Labor and Employment consolidated President Rodrigo Duterte’s proclamation to apply rules for payment of wages for the regular holiday on June 12, 2021 in observance of the Philippine Independence Day.

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1107 issued by the President, the DOLE Advisory No. 12 S. 2021 states that employees who worked during the regular holiday shall be paid a total of 200% of wages for that day for the first eight hours.

Meanwhile, 100% of wages shall be paid for an employee that did not work on that day, “subject to certain requirements under the implementing rules and regulations of the Labor Code.

The advisory states that in view of the existence of a national emergency arising from the COVID-19 situation, establishments that have totally closed or ceased operation during the community quarantine period are exempted from the payment of the holiday pay on June 12, 2021 under the Advisory. – rir
