Domingo resigns as FDA chief

The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday (Jan. 3) confirmed the resignation of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director-General Eric Domingo from his position.

“Yes, effective today. I believe I did my part to help during the pandemic. The FDA is now stronger, more efficient and systems are in place. It’s time for me to move on to other things,” Domingo said.

Dr. Oscar Guiterrez, the Deputy Director-General of the FDA, will be replacing Domingo as officer-in-charge.
