DOST lauds 1st PH Sci-Math Battle winners at 2021 Science Week

In celebration of National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) last Nov. 22-28 with the theme, “Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon,” the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Philippine Science High School System presented the first ever NSTW Sci-Math Battle winners.

The winners are Atriel Anika Carreon from San Fernando Elementary School, Central Luzon, National Champion of the First Sci-Math Battle 2021; second place, Lindsey Mie Mamauag of La Salle University Integrated School in Central Mindanao; and third place, Abisha Beatrix Florante from Project 6 Elementary School Division of Quezon City in the National Capital Region.

The 16 regional finalists from the Regional Science and Technology Week Sci-Math Battle conducted by the Philippine Science High School campuses, who obtained the highest scores in their cluster, competed in the final round during the National Science and Technology Week Sci-Math Battle.

The Sci-Math Battle, an online quiz bee held via Zoom, aims to develop grade school students’ interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), encourage them to excel in their studies, and apply for a scholarship at the Philippine Science High School system.
