TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol retains its stature as one of the key tourist destinations in the country, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT) on Monday.
Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo said Bohol remains to be the favorite destinations of both foreign and domestic tourists.
“Yes, Bohol is always considered by tourists as their top destination. They want to come here and visit the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier. So, tamang-tama ang Bohol (Bohol is perfect),” Teo said.
Teo visited Bohol to grace the groundbreaking ceremony of the PHP1.5-billion water treatment facility in the western town of Cortes, which is about a half an hour drive from Tagbilaran City.
The DOT secretary pointed out some of the many attractions that make Bohol an irresistible tourism magnet.
She cited the white sand beaches in Panglao and the man-made forest in Bilar town as some of the popular tourist attractions.
The secretary hopes that with the new Bulk Water Project supplying Panglao and the completion of the new international airport in June, more tourists will troop to the province. (Dave Albarado/PNA)
