DOT probes allegations on hotels kicking out foreigners

The Department of Tourism (DOT) is investigating allegations that several hotels are kicking out foreign tourists while Luzon is under the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat warns that hotel owners involved in such incidents will be charged.

The issue of stranded foreigners being forced out of hotels was initially brought up in a meeting between the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. and the European Union.

DOT Sec. Romulo-Puyat clarifies that foreign tourists can extend their stay in the Philippines if they wish to do so.
