MANILA – Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista on Wednesday, July 6,  designated Romeo Vera Cruz as officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Prior to his designation, Vera Cruz has been serving as the agency’s executive director.

In a statement, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Vera Cruz, as part of his duties as the LTO OIC, will “perform and discharge the functions and responsibilities” of his office until July 31 or until a replacement has been appointed or designated.

“In appointing ED Vera Cruz, Secretary Bautista issued Special Order No. 2022-130 dated 01 July 2022 pursuant to the Office of the President’s Memorandum Circular No. 1 through Executive Secretary Victor D. Rodriguez,” the DOTr said.

As OIC, it said Vera Cruz is authorized to act on “administrative and day-to-day functions” of the LTO. (PNA)
