MANILA — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) advised motorists that three sections of Epifanio delos Santos Ave. (EDSA) and two sections of the Circumferential Road 5 (C-5) will be temporarily closed for road repair over the weekend, covering three cities in Metro Manila.

In an advisory, DPWH-National Capital Region (NCR) Director Ador Canlas said road reblocking activities will be conducted from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday in Quezon City, Taguig and Manila.

In Quezon City, repair works will be done at the southbound direction of Edsa from New York St. to Monte de Piedad St.; northbound direction of Edsa in front of the Philippine College of Surgeons and Quezon City Academy (first lane from sidewalk); from the Light Mall (first lane) to Jollibee Service Road, Megamall (second lane); and northbound direction of Fairview Ave. from Atherton to Regalado Ave. North (first lane from center island).

On the other hand, two sections of C-5, specifically the southbound direction after Lanuza Ave. before the Bagong Ilog Flyover and in front of SM Aura in Taguig City will also be repaired.

Construction will be conducted at the Ramon Magsaysay Blvd. from Ramon Magsaysay Bridge to Pureza St., going to Quiapo in Manila.

The DPWH recommended that motorists take alternative routes due to expected traffic congestion in these areas.
