TESDA’s “Tsuper Iskolar” Program

Almost 500 jeepney drivers and their kin affected by the PUV Modernization Program are the current beneficiaries of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) Tsuper Iskolar program in Pampanga. The program offers lessons on operating heavy equipment, welding, wellness massage, housekeeping, automotive skills and more. Aside from the scholarships, the beneficiaries receive a daily allowance of PHP 350 for 35 days. PHP20 million have been alloted by the government for Region 3 which has so far benefitted 11,000 individuals, 500 of whom have graduated this October.
