Drug den maintainer, five others arrested in Bacolod buy-bust operations

BACOLOD CITY – Drug enforcement teams in this city arrested six persons and seized P142,800 worth of suspected shabu in two separate buy-busts on Tuesday (Sept. 28) afternoon.

Around 5:10 p.m, suspect Vincent Elanggos, 27, was caught selling P500 of the prohibited substance to a poseur buyer at his residence in Purok Riverside Zone 2, Barangay Banago.

The operation, conducted by personnel of Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit, yielded 11 sachets of shabu weighing about six grams valued at P40,800.

Elanggos is now detained at Police Station 3 while charges are being readied against him.

Earlier on the same day at around 2:30 p.m., five individuals were collared by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Western Visayas Special Enforcement Teams inside a drug den in Purok Star Apple 1, Barangay 27.

Arrested were Hanna Jane Gajelomo, the alleged drug den maintainer, and companions Herman Mahinay, Glen Dionesa, Federico Gurtones Jr., and Ana Marie Manano.

The sixth suspect, James Jonathan Ong, was able to get away.

Operatives recovered several sachets of shabu weighing about 15 grams valued at P102,000 as well as drug paraphernalia such as improvised tooters, assorted lighters, and scissors.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are also being prepared against the suspects. (PNA) – bny
