DUMAGUETE CITY – Anti-illegal drug operatives have arrested five suspected drug personalities in separate operations in Dumaguete City and other parts of Negros Oriental province this week.

Torres, 43, married, of Barangay Domolog in Bindoy; Dondy Talledo Gualingco, 23, single, of Purok 2, Barangay Dawis in Bayawan City; Rodel Aldenese Banua, 41, single, of Barangay Maayong Tubig in Dauin; and Lady Hope Ligutom Ramo, 39, single, of Barangay Jawa in Valencia town.

Benitez was arrested at about 9 a.m. Wednesday during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Malalangsi, Pamplona town, after selling suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover operative.

In Bindoy, Torres was arrested at about 9:30 a.m. on the same day during a buy-bust operation by the town police in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Dumaguete City, also for allegedly selling suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer.

The third suspect, Gualingco, was arrested at about 2:20 p.m. in Barangay Dawis, Bayawan City following a phone call received by the local police about a suspicious person spotted in the village.

Responding police officers conducting Oplan Sita apprehended Gualingco for alleged illegal possession of suspected shabu.

In Dauin town, local police arrested Banua at about 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Maayong Tubig. Police confiscated from him two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
