Drug suspect killed in Talavera drug bust

A drug suspect was killed during a buy-bust operation that led to an armed encounter with the police in Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

The fatality was identified only with his alias “Ronnie” who was known to be a resident of Cabanatuan City, while his cohort who evaded arrest remains unknown.

Joint elements of the Talavera Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial
Intelligence Unit of Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (PIU-NEPPO) conducted the operation in Barangay Gulod around 10:40 PM last night.

According to Talavera Police Chief PLtCol Heryl Bruno, “Ronnie” opened fire at police
operatives after the transaction with a poseur-buyer but was later killed after police shot back.

A .45 calibre pistol, various ammunitions, cartridge cases, marked money, and twenty
four transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu were recovered in the encounter site.
