PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — The social welfare department is looking to hire field workers to help in the “Listahanan” project’s “Unconditional Cash Transfer” (UCT) program.
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Listahanan Regional Coordinator Ernie Jarabejo said Sunday they are ready to hire 95 validators and 15 Administrative Assistants (AAs) in Oriental Mindoro; 78 validators and 11 AAs for Occidental Mindoro; 27 validators and six AAs in Marinduque; 32 validators and 17 AAs in Romblon; and 160 validators and 24 AAs in Palawan.
“Validators will be paid per form (PHP50/form) while administrative assistants will receive PHP10,159 for 30 days,” Jarabejo said, adding that priority will be given to applicants who are former “Listahanan” field staff, at least second-year college level; physically fit; possess good communication and social skills; and willing to be assigned to other municipalities.
“Listahanan” is a DSWD data management system for poverty reduction.
He said that under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) or Republic Act No. 10963, the UCT will provide cash grants in the amount of PHP200 per month in 2018, which will rise to PHP300 per month in 2019 and 2020, to identified poor families to offset the increase in prices of goods for those who will not directly benefit from the lowering of personal income taxes.
The UCT household validation will start in March, targeting 94,128 households in the Mimaropa region. The name stands for the provinces comprising Region IV-B, namely, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. (Celeste Anna Formoso/PNA)
