DSWD: Information dissemination important vs vaccine hesitancy among elderly

By Pearl Gumapos

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Monday (Feb. 21) said information dissemination among senior citizens who remain hesitant to get vaccinated is important.

“Iyon pong ating information dissemination campaign during payouts sa mga senior citizens pension ay naisasagawa natin dahil naniniwala tayo na iyong pagpapahatid ng nararapat at angkop na impormasyon ay makakatulong sa ating mga elderly sa pag-arrive ng informed judgement ukol sa pagbabakuna,” DSWD Spokesperson Irene Dumlao said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

Dumlao said the agency has more programs for seniors who are hesitant to get vaccinated.

Isa na po diyan iyong social pension for indigenous senior citizens,” she said.

-ag
