DSWD urges LGUs to fund cash assistance for constituents not part of SAP

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has urged mayors to use their own funds for cash assistance to residents who are not part of the Social Amelioration Program.

According to the DSWD, the local government units (LGUs) must have the initiative to search for funds to help their own constituents in need.

The agency also prompted the LGUs to immediately submit the list of beneficiaries for the emergency subsidy under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

The DSWD sought the public’s understanding for prioritizing marginalized Filipinos who are beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the distribution of financial aid. – PTV News
