DTI confiscates Christmas lights without ICC stickers

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) seizes approximately 160 boxes of Christmas lights from a store inside 168 Mall, Divisoria due to absence of Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) stickers. Said sticker is an indication that a certain electrical product is safe. The seller of the confiscated items will be given a notice of violation. The commerce department advises that one look into such stickers in buying similar products and report at once to the DTI any business establishment that sells them without the stickers.

The commerce department also goes to some supermarkets in Divisoria to check the prices of noche buena products sold there. Products that are beyond suggested retail price (SRP) are brought immediately to the attention of the manager for compliance with the SRP.
