DTI recommends shorter curfew hours under MGCQ

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is suggesting shorter curfew hours once modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) is declared.

According to the department, it is time for the Philippine economy and businesses to recover.

However, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año points out that curfew will still depend on the local government units (LGUs). If the number of cases in a city or municipality decreases, curfew hours can be shortened. If the number of cases remains high, the curfew hours stay.

In relation with this, Malacañang states that the data regarding the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases plays a huge role in finding the balance between life and livelihood in the next few days. Experts say the decision of the President on the next quarantine classifications on various areas will rely on the public’s compliance with the minimum health standards.
