DTI urges businesses to apply for Safety Seal

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) encouraged businesses to apply for a Safety Seal certification.

The recently approved Safety Seal certification program indicates that an establishment is compliant with the health protocols. The requirements to acquire a Safety Seal includes compliance with physical distancing, wearing face mask and face shield, proper ventilation, and the use of the StaySafe.PH contact tracing platform.

The Safety Seal is not mandatory, however, it will help build consumer confidence.

The seal has a six month validity which may be revoked when health protocols are violated.

DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya led the inspection of two malls in Valenzuela wherein they posted the first Safety Seals in the said establishments.

The DTI and other agencies are finalizing giving an additional 10% operational capacity as incentive for establishments with Safety Seals.
