Duterte administration to build more Malasakit Centers to help poor Filipinos – SAP Bong Go

In line with the President Duterte’s directive to bring government services closer to the people, Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher “Bong” Go said that more Malasakit Centers, one-stop facilities for the medical and social service needs of indigent patients, will be built around the country.

“Sabi ng Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, huwag ninyong pahirapan kundi tulungan natin yung ating mga kababayan. Lalo na ngayon habang hinihintay pa natin ang pagpasa ng Universal Healthcare Bill. Eto ang isa sa mga rason kung bakit minamadali natin ang pagtatayo ng mga dagdag na Malasakit Centers sa iba’t ibang parte ng Pilipinas,” said Sec. Go in a radio interview.

Go explained that these centers provide free medicine, health consultations, and other government assistance to Filipinos who cant afford to go to private medial facilities. More importantly, it makes the process easier and more convenient since the responsible agencies area all housed in one location.

“Ang mga Malasakit Center ay nagbibigay ng libreng gamot sa tulong ng PCSO, DSWD, Philhealth, at DOH. Isa itong “one-stop-shop” upang hindi na mahirapan ang mga pasyente o yung kamag-anak nila na nagpro-proseso ng mga bayarin hanggang maging “zero balance” ito.”

“Mayroon nang tatlo sa Visayas, at pang-apat ang pagbubukas ng Malasakit Center sa Dumaguete. Sa kasalukuyan ay may plano pa ang gobyerno na magbukas pa ng mga Malasakit Center sa bansa,” says Sec. Bong Go.
