CEBU CITY — President Rodrigo R. Duterte on Monday, Feb. 12, led the turnover of patrol vehicles for three Philippine National Police (PNP) police stations in the province of Cebu.

The 20 units of Mitsubishi Montero patrol vehicles were donated by the government of Japan to Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu city police stations.

The vehicles are equipped with dash camera through the initiative of the Regional Advisory Council.

Present in the ceremonial turnover held at the PNP Regional Office (PRO) 7 were PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan Hiroto Izumi and Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines Koji Haneda.

The President also inspected the firearms which were recently confiscated in Danao City.

He then proceeded to the conference room of PRO7 and conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu Rank of Kampilan to PO2 Aristeo A. Tampus of San Fernando Police Station in Cebu City.

He was wounded during a drug buy-bust operation on Feb. 4 in Cebu City.

The Kampilan Medal is awarded to officials and personnel of the government and private individuals who were seriously wounded or injured or suffered a great loss of property as a direct result of their participation in an activity pursuant to a campaign or advocacy of the President.

After the awarding, the Chief Executive then presided over the joint Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)-PNP Command Conference. (PND)
