The Philippine National Police (PNP) is fully prepared to secure the filing of Certificates of Candidacy of political aspirants in the 2022 national and local elections.
Nagsagawa na tayo ng mga scenario-building at simulation exercises in anticipation of any eventuality at kasama dito ang patuloy na intelligence monitoring and assessment in coordination with the Commission on Elections,” said PNP Chief Police Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar.
He said he had already tasked all concerned police units to ensure the deployment of a sufficient number of police officers in areas where the filing of COCs will take place so they can guarantee the safety of everyone and enforce the minimum public health standards.
The filing of COCs is scheduled from October 1 to 8, according to the Commission on Elections.
The poll body said the filing of COCs for President, Vice President, Senator, and Partylist Representative, will be held at the Sofitel Garden Tent in Pasay City while the filing for local positions will take place at local Comelec offices in the different cities and municipalities.
“So we expect the candidates themselves to take their own measures to prevent this from happening for the protection of everybody,” he added.
PGen Eleazar reminded police officers who will be deployed to ensure that the guidelines released by the Comelec regarding the filing of COCs are strictly followed.
The PNP has vowed to ensure an orderly and honest election process, beginning with the filing of COCs up to the declaration of election winners. (PNP-PIO)-rir
