MANILA – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar noted an improvement in the upkeep of police stations in compliance with his intensified cleanliness policy (ICP).
“Sa walong istasyon na ating binisita, nakita natin na malilinis at may pagbabago,” he said in a statement Monday (May 24).
Eleazar made the remark after he visited eight police stations in the cities of Pasay, Parañaque, Taguig, and Manila on Sunday.
During his visit, Eleazar found all the stations compliant with the ICP, which is aimed at maintaining the cleanliness of police stations and ensuring the alertness of on-duty officers.
He advised all police officers to be on their toes and expect more surprise inspections.
“Dadayuhin natin kahit na pinakamaliit na istasyon, kaya dapat handa sila, malinis ang lugar at alerto ang mga naka-duty,” Eleazar said.
Meanwhile, he also reminded all policemen to be good examples of law-abiding citizens to earn the respect and trust of the public.
This came following repeated complaints and social media posts about police officers who are not wearing helmets while riding motorcycles.
Eleazar said every law is crafted and enacted with good reason, mostly for public order and safety, and police officers are duty-bound to enforce the law. (with Lloyd Caliwan/PNA) -jlo
