Electricity cost drops in January 2020

The Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) shrinks the electricity price this month, January 2020, where a kilowatt-hour costs only PHP0.4100, compared to December 2019’s PHP9.86. The reduced generation charge brought about the cheaper electricity charge.

With respect to the escalating tension in Middle East brought about by the United States of America-Iran conflict, the MERALCO sees not an immediate impact to the provision of power by the company.
