ERC orders DUs to refund excess collection

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) ordered more than 20 Luzon-based distribution utilities to refund excess payment collection to their consumers.

The order was issued as ERC Chairperson Agnes Devanadera signed the directive for the distribution utilities to refund their customers from January 2017 to December 2019. The agency’s study has shown that the DUs must refund around ₱5,000 to ₱146 million.

ERC Chair Devanadera stated that the refund will greatly help the public amidst the global pandemic. – PTV News
