ERC orders MERALCO to distribute ₱13B-refund

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) ordered the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) to begin distributing the refund to its customers worth ₱13.89 billion.

According to ERC Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer Agnes Devanadera, the refund will greatly help consumers amidst the global health crisis. The agency discovered the extra charges of the electric company from 2017 to 2019.

Due to the refund, the consumers will have an average reduction of ₱0.1528 per kilowatt hour (kWh) from their bills. -PTV News
