ERC urges consumers to pay overdue bills

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) urged consumers to pay their overdue electric bills.

According to ERC Chairperson Attorney Agnes Devanadera, it is the discretion of the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) to disconnect electricity from households if the consumers still fail to settle their bills.

It can be recalled that MERALCO has extended its “No Disconnection” policy until January. Senator Risa Hontiveros suggested a longer extension due to the ongoing pandemic. The electric company is currently looking into her suggestion. -PTV News
