Ex-Mandaluyong Mayor is new MMDA chairperson

Former Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA). He will replace the late MMDA Chairperson Danilo Lim who died on January 6 after contracting the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The appointment was confirmed by Senator Bong Go and MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia.

Before his appointment, Abalos served as mayor of Mandaluyong from 1998 to 2004, and again on 2007 to 2016. – PTV News
