Ex-solon, 2 bodyguards gunned down in La Union

AGOO, La Union — Former La Union 2nd District Representative Eufranio Eriguel and his two civilian bodyguards were shot dead in Barangay Capas here Saturday night.

Agoo police identified Eriguel’s bodyguards as Mac Roel Tobera and Bobby Ordinario.

Initial police report said Eriguel was speaking before a barangay gathering at about 7 p.m. when fired upon by unidentified male suspects on board a black Mitsubishi Montero and white Toyota Innova vehicles.

The victims were brought to La Union Medical Center but were declared dead on arrival.

Authorities immediately conducted dragnet operations against the suspects. (Hilda Austria/PNA)
