Expect fair weather on Monday

MANILA—Fair weather with isolated rain showers in some areas in Luzon is expected on Monday due to the ridge of high-pressure area (HPA).

In its 4 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the regions of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and Central Luzon and Aurora province, would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country would also have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

“Ridge” refers to a relatively narrow extension of an anticyclone or high-pressure area. Unlike a low-pressure area, this indicates an area where the atmospheric pressure is higher than its surroundings. Formation of clouds is usually suppressed, thus, less chance of rains.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 23-32 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City, 23-30 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 14-23 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu, 22-31 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao, 24-31 degrees Celsius.
