Fair weather, chances of rains to prevail across PH

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

The entire country will have fair weather with chances of isolated rains caused by localized thunderstorms, the weather bureau said Wednesday, June 15.

No weather disturbance is seen to develop or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility, Grace Castañeda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The ridge of a high-pressure area is extending over northern and central Luzon, while the easterlies affect the eastern section of Mindanao.

Castañeda said warm weather will be experienced across Luzon until noon but high chances of thunderstorms are forecast in the afternoon.

A temperature of up to 35°C is expected in Tuguegarao; and up to 33°C in Metro Manila, Laoag, Legazpi, Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa.

The Visayas and Mindanao will have fair weather, with chances of rains and thunderstorms.

“Be alert against possible floods and landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms,” she said.

Zamboanga’s temperature could reach 34°C, and in Davao and Iloilo, 33°C.

Meanwhile, the entire archipelago will continue to experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas. – gb
