Fair weather, isolated rains to prevail over most of PH

Fair weather with isolated rain showers will be experienced in most areas of the country, the weather bureau said Wednesday, June 1.

The low-pressure area (LPA) last seen in the vicinity of Coron, Palawan has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone and may likely dissipate within the day, said Grace Castañeda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

“However, it will still bring rains over a huge part of southern Luzon. Take precautions and be alert against possible flooding and landslides,” she said.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA are forecast over the Bicol and Mimaropa regions and Quezon province.

The rest of Luzon will have generally fair weather, with chances of isolated rains caused by localized thunderstorms, according to Castañeda.

Temperatures could reach 35°C in Tuguegarao, and 33°C in Manila.

The Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rains, while Mindanao will generally have fair weather, with isolated rains caused by localized thunderstorms.

“Take precautions as flooding is still possible during severe thunderstorms,” she said.

Temperatures could reach 34°C in Zamboanga; 33°C in Davao, Cebu, and Tacloban; and 32°C in Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro.

Meanwhile, the whole country will continue to experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas. – gb
