Fair weather to prevail across PH

Fair weather will prevail over most parts of the country Monday (Oct. 18), the weather bureau said.

The northeasterly surface windflow affecting extreme northern Luzon, however, will bring light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.

“Because of the northeasterly surface windflow, gale warning is in effect over the seaboards of northern Luzon. Avoid venturing out to the sea as much as possible,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Chris Perez said.

In its daily weather forecast issued at 4:00 a.m., PAGASA said the rest of the country’s seaboards will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.

As for the other parts of Luzon, generally fair weather will prevail. Isolated rains and isolated thunderstorms are also likely. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

“The Visayas and Mindanao will have warm and humid weather. There are also chances of rains, and sometimes, thunderstorms especially in the afternoon or evening,” he said.

Perez said PAGASA does not see any weather disturbance that may affect the country. (PNA) – jlo
