Fair weather to prevail across PH Tuesday

MANILA – Fair weather will prevail across the country due to the easterlies, with only isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms, the weather bureau said Tuesday.

The low pressure area (LPA) was last tracked at 390 kilometer (km) northwest of Zamboanga City, or 95 km southeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

“It still has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but this LPA will bring rains over Palawan,” weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

He advised those in Palawan to be alert and take precautions against possible flooding and landslides.

“There are no other LPA or weather disturbance inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility,” Aurelio said.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience fair weather, with isolated rain showers, mostly in the afternoon or evening.

The bureau forecasted that temperatures in Metro Manila and Tuguegarao could reach 34°C; in Davao, up to 32°C; and in Tacloban, Iloilo, and Zamboanga, up to 31°C.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)-ngs
