Families taking steps to keep safe from diseases

With the prevalence of deadly diseases, an old practice of congeniality may evetually die. Marikina Representative Bayani Fernando has filed House Resolution No. 408 which aims to prevent the exercise of the universal tradition of handshaking because it may lead to unintentional transmission of virus and spread of sicknesses. Instead, a new approach is promoted with the simple act of laying one’s right hand over the chest, a simultaneous nod and an appropriate greeting. Some ordinary citizens agree with the solon espcially a mom who is extra cautious in protecting her child from catching germs but others find it awkward since it runs against tradition. Meanwhile, House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta deems it better to push for more funds for the Department of Health at the bicameral conference committee of the Lower House and Senate to finance the programs of the agency.
