The 2022 Bar exam topnotcher Czar Matthew Gerard Dayday emphasized that the secret for reviewing works differently for everyone.

“I think my advice for those who are going to take the bar this upcoming ’23 Bar is really to figure out what works for you,” Dayday said.

“Kasi it’s different for other people, what worked for me, what worked for Eric, what worked for my other batchmates—may not necessarily work for you,” he added.

Five of the highest-ranking examinees were from the University of the Philippines, while some were also colleagues of Dayday in a Makati-based law firm.

Out of 9,183 examinees, Dayday topped the bar after scoring 88.8083%, followed by Erickson Mariñas with 88.7666% in second place, Christiane Claire Cregencia with 87.9667% in third place, Andrea Jasmine Yu with 87.7750% in fourth place, and Kim Gia Gatapia with 87.4250% in fifth place.

Dayday also expressed gratitude to the people around him who shared the same goals as him.

“Siguro as early as August or September every night literally every night mga 8 pm or 9pm kami ng friends ko apat kami – they are also bar passers now – we would all go on Zoom tapos mag-aaral kami for two hours,” he said.

Dayday explained that the Zoom calls kept him accountable for his study goals while reviewing for the exam. – gb
