Filipino triathletes dominate triathlon, snatch 2 golds, 2 silvers in 3rd day of 2017 SEA Games

Starting the third day of the biennial regional tournament, the Filipino triathletes dominated in both men and women events by grabbing two gold medals and two silver medals at 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The day started with Nikko Huelgas, who defended his triathlete title by seizing a gold medal finish with a time of 1:59.30.

Completing a one-two punch in the men’s event, John Chicano also grabbed a silver medal.

On the other hand, women triathletes won’t fall back as they also provided a one-two strong finish with Marion Kim Mangrobang bagging another gold medal in women’s event, alongside with her pal, Ma. Claire Adorna who also got silver medal.

These sudden turn of events in the third day provided the Philippines to record three golds, four silvers and and four bronze medals at the ongoing biennial meet. | Tretch Melarpes – PTV
