Finland Ambassador to the PH visits BOC Davao, discusses trade potential between Davao Region and European Countries

Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Davao District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria receives Finland Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Juha Markus Pyykkö, at the BOC Davao Compound, Davao City, Tuesday morning, December 7, 2021.

Highlighted during the meeting are the Port’s trade activities in its areas of responsibility, border security accomplishments, its top import and export commodities from and to European Countries, including Finland. The Port also discussed the potential of the Davao Region as a logistics hub in Mindanao for the ASEAN.

Attendees of the meeting were Deputy Collector for Operations Atty. Dante A. Maranan, Deputy Collector for Administration, Atty. Mohammad M. Ben-Usman, and European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Southern Mindanao Business Council Chairman, Mr. Antonio Peralta.

District Collector, Atty. Austria expressed his gratitude to the ECCP for making this activity a priority as it provides a platform for the Port to share its plans and programs that are designed to spur economic growth in the Davao Region and Mindanao as a whole. (BOC) -rir
