Fire engulfs residential area in Barangay Vasra, QC

MANILA — A fire that reached fifth alarm razed a residential area in Sitio Palanas in Barangay Vasra, Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon.

Initial reports said the fire started at around 5:07 p.m. at an area behind the Department of Agriculture building.

Fire trucks continue to arrive at the site, as the Quezon City local government issued a traffic advisory to avoid North Avenue corner Elliptical Road due to heavy traffic.

In a separate advisory, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said portions of EDSA North Avenue going to Elliptical Road has been closed due to the ongoing fire.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. (PNA)
