Flight instructor dies, student injured in plane crash

A pilot instructor died while his student was injured in a plane crash in Alaminos City, Pangasinan on Wednesday, Dec. 15.

In a phone interview, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office information officer Lt. Col. Ferdinand de Asis identified the fatality as Capt. Daryl Uy while a pilot student as Caran France Kaura, 21, of Barangay Pagkakaisa, San Narciso in Quezon province.

“At around 9:20 a.m. today, a two-seater training fixed-wing plane with body number RP-C8202, with markings ‘Fly Fast’, crashed into a fishpond along Sitio Paradise (in) Barangay Telbang, Alaminos City,” he said.

The student pilot was immediately brought to the Western Pangasinan District Hospital by the Alaminos City Rescue Unit, he added.

The Bureau of Fire Protection and other concerned agencies responded to the area.

De Asis said they are still conducting further investigation on the incident.

He said flight schools in Lingayen town usually conduct training flights around Western Pangasinan in four to five hours. (PNA) – bny
