Flights, sea trips canceled due to TY ‘Betty’

Several flights and sea trips were canceled on Monday, May 29, due to inclement weather brought by Typhoon “Betty” and southwest monsoon.

In an advisory on Saturday, May 27, Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced the cancelation of the following flights:

May 29, 2023
PR2932/2933 Manila – Basco – Manila
PR2198/2199 Manila – Laoag – Manila
PR2230/2231 Cebu – Baguio – Cebu

May 30, 2023
PR2196/2197 Manila – Laoag – Manila
PR2198/2199 Manila – Laoag – Manila
PR2932/2933 Manila – Basco – Manila

May 31, 2023
PR2932/2933 Manila – Basco – Manila
PR2936/2937 Manila – Basco – Manila

PAL said affected passengers may rebook their flights, convert tickets to Travel Credits, or refund their tickets without penalties.

In a separate advisory, Cebu Pacific Air has canceled the following flights for Monday:

5J 196/197: Manila – Cauayan – Manila
5J 404/405: Manila – Laoag – Manila
DG 6177/6178: Manila – Masbate – Manila
5J 504/505: Manila – Tuguegarao – Manila
5J 506/507: Manila – Tuguegarao – Manila

The airlines offered free rebooking or Travel Fund to affected passengers from some destinations during the following dates:

May 27-30: Clark, Naga, Legazpi, Virac
May 27-31: Cauayan, Laoag, Tuguegarao
May 28-30: Masbate
May 28-31: Taipei
May 29-30: Caticlan (Boracay), San Jose

The Philippine Ports Authority also issued cancelation advisory of sea trips of the following vessels on Monday:

Supercat: Ormoc City to Cebu City (8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.)
Montenegro Shipping Lines – MV Masbate: Coron to El Nido and El Nido to Coron
Bunso Transport – MC Buns Ferry 2: Coron to San Jose, Mindoro and San Jose, Mindoro to Coron
Atienza Interisland Ferries Inc. – MV November Cattleya: Coron to El Nido and El Nido to Coron
Aleson Shipping Lines – MV Ciara Joie: Dumaguete Port to Dapitan (1:00 p.m.)
Montenegro Shipping Line: Dumaguete Port to Dapitan (8:00 p.m.)
MBCA Leopards Sea Runner: Ubay, Bohol to Hilongos, Leyte and Hilongos, Leyte to Ubay, Bohol
