Folayang, Loman, Miado triumph at ONE X

ONE Championship (ONE) graced the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday, Mar. 26, to celebrate its 10th anniversary with ONE X, a massive three-part extravaganza featuring 20 bouts, including five World Title contests, two submission grappling matches, and a flyweight special rules super-fight.

Former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang survived an explosive third round from John Wayne Parr in the Australian legend’s last Muay Thai fight.

The Filipino superstar started with his wushu strikes, battering Parr across the Circle with relentless forward pressure. Parr tried his best to defend against Folayang’s trademark spinning attacks, but it was clear “The Gunslinger” was a step behind.

In the third round, however, Parr hurt Folayang and went on the offensive, forcing “Landslide” on the back foot. Both men made it to the final bell, and Parr left his gloves on the canvas in an emotional send-off.

In a clash between two fierce Filipino strikers, Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado defeated no. 5-ranked strawweight contender Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang via TKO to score the biggest win of his MMA career.

The match was hotly contested but came to a premature ending when Adiwang suffered a leg injury at the 2:56 mark of the second round, forcing referee Olivier Coste to stop the fight.

Miado improved his record to 11-4 and secured his third straight victory.

Also, Stephen “The Sniper” Loman did more than enough to leave the circle with a unanimous decision win against opponent Shoko Sato.

At first, the cerebral pace of the bantamweight MMA contest allowed Loman and Sato to impede each other’s best offensive efforts. However, it was the aggression of “The Sniper” that eventually paid off, landing a late takedown and followed it up with ground-and-pound to seal the victory.

The well-earned win nudged the no. 3-ranked bantamweight contender’s record to 16-2 and kept him in the World title hunt in a loaded division.

Finally, third-ranked women’s atomweight contender “Hamzzang” Ham Seo Hee put the controversy behind her with a dominant win over no. 2-ranked Denice “Lycan Queen” Zamboanga in their three-round mixed martial arts clash. (ONE Championship) – bny
