Following process: What to do before trooping to vaccination sites

By Alec Go

The Department of Health (DOH) is urging the public to apply online to their local government’s vaccination program and to avoid going to vaccination centers without a confirmed registration.

This followed the reported crowding of individuals on May 19 in a Paraῆaque mall in hopes of getting inoculated with Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

“Ang nangyari, pati ang mga hindi naka-schedule ay nagdagsaan. Mayroon kasing limit per vaccination center kung ilan lang ang kanyang mababakunahan for that day,” DOH-NCR Reg. Dir. Gloria Balboa said on Tuesday.

To avoid a similar incident and to ensure a hassle-free inoculation, the DOH enumerated the following pre-vaccination steps:

  1.   Register with your local government’s online vaccination registration to be included in the master list of scheduled beneficiaries
  2.   Wait for a confirmation message or notification from your local government. This would also indicate the exact date, time, and location of your vaccination.
  3.   Confirm with your local government whether you will be available on the said date and time.
  4.   Once the schedule has been confirmed, make sure to be on time. Avoid heading to the vaccination site without a confirmed schedule.
  5.   On the day of vaccination, bring the following:
  •     ID
  •     Consent Form
  •     Ballpen,
  •     Registration Form
  •     Vaccination Card
  1.   Wear your face mask and face shield properly, bring alcohol or sanitizers, and observe one-meter physical distancing.

“We really request our kababayan na be alert sa kanilang cellphones, lalo kung nag-rehistro na sila. Kapag nagtext na sila, mag-confirm na darating sila on that day, at kailangang maaga,” Balboa advised.

As of May 18, the Philippines has already administered 3,114,847 COVID-19 vaccine doses. The highest number of daily administered vaccines was recorded on May 15 with 120,529 jabs. -rir
