Gierran vows to eradicate corruption PhilHealth

Former National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director and new PhilHealth President Dante Gierran has assured that getting to the root of corruption in the agency tops his list.

Gierran is confident that he will fulfill his “mission” within the last two years of President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s administration.

“We have to rule with so much transparency, we have to rule with honesty, we have to rule with integrity. Makikita ito ng taumbayan at ‘pag nakita nila na tayo’y sinsero, siguro manumbalik sa atin ‘yung what we call the trust ng taumbayan (The public will see it and when they see that we are sincere, maybe what we call public trust will be regained).”

The newly appointed PhilHealth Chief has admitted that he is not an expert in Public Health but he is up to the challenge to learn about it. As a matter of fact, he is open to seek advice from former PhilHealth President Ricardo Morales.

PhilHealth CEO Gierran sees the need for a reorganization as he anticipates a hard time moving if the majority of its personnel are in disagreement with his strides against corruption inside the agency.

Gierran has assured that amidst the investigation in the agency, the service of PhilHealth to the public will continue. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
