Gordon urges exec branch to act on committee report on PhilHealth

Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairperson Richard Gordon is challenging the executive department to act on the committee report submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte regarding the alleged anomalies in PhilHealth.

Based on the committee report, Gordon explained the systematic corruption within the corporation which he tagged as “failhealth,” including claims, overpayment, and the “mafia” that is protecting the anomalous transactions.

Gordon suggested that former Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Janette Garin, former Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Butch Abad, and former PhilHealth Chief Alex Padilla must be sued over the Php 10.6 billion PhilHealth funds for senior citizens that were used for the DOH project construction.

Gordon also identified the PhilHealth mafia and urged President Rodrigo Duterte and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to intervene to put an end to the alleged corruption activities.

“I hope the Duterte government he promises to rid the government of corruption. In fact ipinatanggal niya, hindi naman sinunod ni General Morales. Dapat ngayon sibakin ‘yan (In fact he wants him out but General Morales did not follow. He should be fired),” Gordon stated.

“At dapat ang aking kaibigan si Sec. Roque, huwag ka na munang nakikialam sa PhilHealth at medyo nahihirapan ang mga tao sa iyo. Dapat asikasuhin mo ang pagiging Spokesman mo. Sapagkat kung gusto mong makialam dapat pumunta ka sa Ombudsman o sa OSG. Biro lang ‘yan pero seryoso ako riyan (To my friend Sec. Roque, do not meddle with PhilHealth since people are having a hard time with you. You should focus being the Spokesman because if you are really serious, you should have gone to the Ombudsman or OSG. That is a joke but I am serious),” he added.
