Gov’t contract service program registration for PUV drivers begins

The registration for the contract service program of the Land Transportation and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for 60,000 driver beneficiaries has started.

The program will include drivers of buses and traditional and modernized jeepneys plying the routes authorized by the LTFRB. The registration will take place until November 29.

The requirements include original and photocopy of professional driver’s license, certification issued by operators to prove authorization of unit and the driver, two photocopies of the operators’ valid ID with their three signatures, and photocopy of OR/CR of the unit.

The LTFRB has created an application with the plate number of each unit to monitor the distance covered which will be used as basis for the assistance.

The cash aid will be given every week through their Landbank accounts or e-wallet such as GCash or Paymaya. An initial cash subsidy will be given to drivers without smartphones for their purchase of such device. – Report from Karen Villanda
