Grenade explodes in Isabela City, no one hurt

ZAMBOANGA CITY–Police said investigation is ongoing to unmask the suspect behind the grenade explosion in Isabela City, Basilan late Monday.

Isabela City Police chief, Supt. Restituto Pangusban, said the incident occurred in Purok 4, Barangay Aguada at about 7:20 p.m. Monday.

Pangusban said there was no casualty but the ceiling of the house owned by Hadja Nasra Dansalan, 60, was damaged by the explosion.

He said investigation showed that Dansalan and members of her family were watching television when a grenade exploded at the balcony of the house.

The explosive was a fragmentation grenade, based on the findings of the explosive ordnance demolition team of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9.
