GSIS Citizen’s Charter now online

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) recently launched the online version of the GSIS Guide to Transactions and Processes (GTAP), the first electronic and online Citizen’s Charter.

The Citizen’s Charter is a guide to basic frontline and other services in the Philippine government.

GTAP is now available on the GSIS website and the mobile application GSIS Touch. The public may access it by typing https://gtap.gsis.gov.ph/ in the web browser or through GSIS Touch.

“Last year, GTAP was only accessible through kiosks situated in GSIS offices nationwide,” GSIS President and General Manager Rolando Ledesma Macasaet said.

“Now, we made it available online to protect our members and pensioners from the virus. You can now download and install GTAP in any mobile phone to be guided in transacting with GSIS. You can also access it on our website@www.gsis.gov.ph.

“So far, GTAP is the first of its kind in the government. We transformed our Citizen’s Charter into a user-friendly and more accessible form in the process of complying with Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Delivery of Government Services Act,” he added.

GTAP started last year as an information kiosk located at the GSIS main office and branch offices nationwide. Instead of reading GSIS’s charter from a tarpaulin, members can use its touch screen feature to read information on GSIS services, a quick guide on the step-by-step process, eligibility and requirements, and the names of GSIS personnel accountable for each transaction.

“Through GTAP, GSIS translates its commitment to provide uninterrupted and flexible service especially during the pandemic. COVID-19 has dramatically changed the public service delivery landscape and we have to respond accordingly by using contactless and convenient methods of serving our members and pensioners.” Macasaet said.

When community quarantines were initially imposed across the country, GSIS immediately moved to accept loan and claims applications through contactless methods to continue serving the public. (GSIS) – jlo
