GSW wins NBA title, Curry gets first finals MVP award

The Golden State Warriors (GSW) ended the finals showdown with the Boston Celtics, 103-90, in the Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals at the TD Garden in Boston on Friday, June 17.

In his sixth NBA finals appearance, NBA superstar Steph Curry finally clinched his first ever MVP plum, after the streak shooting guard registered a solid performance of 34 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists.

The seventh NBA title of GSW also brought the title to guard Gary Payton Jr. and his dad as the fifth father-and-son duo that won the crown in the league.

Meanwhile, long time NBA analyst Henry Liao calmed the fears of basketball fans on the aging line-up of the warriors. Some quarters are saying that this is one of the last titles of the GSW’s Curry era.

Liao believes that Payton Jr. and Jordan Poole are a living proof that the winning team is developing new breeds of stars. – Report from Champ De Lunas (PTV Sports)–ag
