The southwest monsoon or habagat will continue to affect the western portion of Luzon this Sunday, Aug. 6, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Ilocos Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands due to habagat.

These may trigger possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also due to habagat and localized thunderstorms.

Villamil said no low pressure area that may affect the country is currently being monitored.
