Healthcare provider bullish on Mindanao’s huge market

DAVAO CITY – The Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) is bullish on Mindanao’s huge market as it committed to invest on the island through medical network.

Maxicare Healthcare Corp. president and chief executive officer Christian Argos is counting on Mindanao’s big market for the company’s future growth. It has just inaugurated its first Maxicare wing outside of Metro Manila and will be opening soon the Primary Care Center in Davao City.

The Maxicare Exclusive Wing located on the 7th floor of Metro Davao Medical and Research Center (MDMRC) is a private tertiary hospital along J P Laurel Avenue. It boasts of 10 upgraded rooms with wifi, flat screen television, electronic bed, fast admission and discharge processes.

He said Maxicare wanted to assure clients – patients and accompanying family members — of nice facilities and good service.

There are also other things that Mindanao can expect from Maxicare because the services offered in Metro Manila will also be available in Davao City.

“2018 will be a big year for us,” Argos said. He added that new products will be offered and the new market segment will be served.

He said Maxicare is now building new products for individuals. Its healthcare services used to be available only for corporate firms for their employees.

“Prospective clients have a better set of options to secure solutions,” he said.

He cited for instance that the company has the EReady valued at PHP549 for an emergency coverage of up to PHP15,000. This is a one-time prepaid healthcard for a medical emergency.

The other products are the Prima Silver for individuals aged 0 to 59 and the Prima Gold for individuals 60 and above.

No need for enrollment form and medical certificate yet with unlimited outpatient consultations with the Maxicare Primary Care Center physicians, he said

The company has already 1.2 million members throughout the country. Of the number, 150,000 are in Mindanao who is locally sourced members.

The members can access healthcare through available digital technologies such as the docHUGO and HugoPro. (Digna D. Banzon/PNA)
